Leonard L. Thiede

Thiede, Leonard L. age 67, of Plymouth, passed away on December 31st after a courageous 2-year battle with neuroendocrine cancer. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed. Survived by Kathleen, loving wife of 45 years; children Fr. John Thiede SJ, Jeff (Susan) Thiede, and Kay (Mike) Paulus; grandchildren Ben, Parker, Joe, Sean, Autumn, and Maureen; siblings Ralph, Agnes, and Paul; and scores of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceded in death by parents Louis & Louise (Harbecke) and siblings John, Henry, Louise, Alice, and Mary. Len was an ardent supporter of education as a means to improve quality of life. When his kids were younger he was active in PTA and coaching youth sports. More recently, he served on the Development Committee at Risen Christ School and supported Cristo Rey Jesuit High School - two inner- city Catholic schools educating students from under-resourced families. Len was a proud IBM'er for over 23 years and most recently Vice President of Corporate Sales at Vanco Services. Visitation Wednesday, 5:30 - 8 PM with prayer service at 7. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, Jan 5th, 4 PM with visitation starting at 2:30, both at Parish Community of St. Joseph, 8701 36th Ave N., New Hope. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
