Hansen, John Krogness died in Tampa, Florida on October 29, 2010 at the age of 84. John was born in Hallock, Minnesota June 5, 1926 and lived and worked in Minneapolis until his retirement. He had resided in Sun City Center, Florida since 1981. He is survived by: his beloved wife Eileen Dorla Deen and brother James (wife Lisa); fond daughters Leslie Kling (husband Will) and Joan Teskey (husband Gary); devoted sons Mark Hansen (wife Karen), Greg Hansen (wife Sandy), and James Hansen (wife Paula); and especially cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren Melissa Ho, Anna Klein, Maureen Newman, John B. Hansen, Jensi Hansen, Greta Hansen, Nathan Teskey, Dane Hansen, Nicole Hansen, Samantha Teskey, Steven Hansen, Benjamin Teskey, Matthew Ho, Zachary Ho and Oscar Shaw. John served in the NROTC from 1943-1946 at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota. He received a Bachelors Degree from the U. of M. in 1946, a Masters in 1953, and a PhD in Educational Administration in 1967. John pursued a lifelong career as Superintendant of Schools in Bathgate, ND from 1948-1950, Crary, ND from 1950- 1955, Warroad, MN from 1957-1959, and Fridley, MN from 1959-1981. He retired in 1981. John was passionate about learning both in his work and in his retirement, with particular interests in computers, golf, history, and genealogy. In lieu of a funeral there will be a private family celebration of his life. Direct donations in memory of John can be made to "Scholarship Endowment" in the name of "John K. Hansen".
