Giere, Eric O. age 88, of St. Louis Park, passed away Feb. 2, 2016. Preceded in death by parents, Dr. Richard W. Giere & Laura Forde Giere. Survived by wife of 46 years, Beatrice; children, Christine (Michael) Banker, David Giere, Thomas (Becky) Hennessey, David (Millah) Hennessey; sister, Priscllla (Carl) Teisberg; nieces, Cindy Hewitt (Ronald), Susan Goodwin (Greg), Caroline Ostrom (John Karthaus). Also survived by many grandchildren, grand nieces and grand nephews, great friends and colleagues. Eric was a graduate of Washburn High School, Luther College, the University of Iowa, and attended the Curtis Institute of Music. Music was his life. A professional musician since age 15 playing clarinet and saxophone, Eric was a member of the Twin Cities Musicians Union Local 30-73. He was also a tenor soloist for many Twin Cities churches, serving 12 years as principal tenor soloist for Westminster Presbyterian Church. Memorial service Saturday, February 20, 11:00 A.M. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1200 Marquette Ave. S., Mpls. Private interment.
