Blanche Louise (Wood) Abbott

Abbott, Blanche Louise (Wood) Age 83 of Pine River, formerly of Newport and Blaine, passed away peacefully with family at her side on 6/19/09. Preceded in death by parents, her husband, Herbert Russell Abbott, and daughter, Dorothy "Dotty" Abbott. Survived by daughters, Shirley Nelson, Darlene (Dennis) Vilhauer and Bernice (Mark) Fritz; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Earl Wood and Cecil (LaVonne) Wood; other family and friends. Blanche was born and raised in Slayton, MN and attended Slayton High School. She married Herbert 12/31/1944. Blanche grew up in a musical family. She played guitar, coronet, accordion and any instrument she could put her hands on. She loved dancing and enjoyed crafts of all kinds, but she was a superb artist of decorative eggs.
