Barbari, Richard Anthony "Dick" Lifelong St. Paul resident, 68, died Friday, November 28th in Austin, Texas from an aggressive strain of pneumonia and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Dick has been residing in Estero, FL and Detroit Lakes, MN. Dick was retired, after successful careers with Sperry Univac, Apollo Computer, Nicolet Instruments, and most recently, as the CEO of the internet startup company, "Othnet. He graduated from Harding High School in 1958 and The University of Wisconsin at River Falls in 1969. He was a decorated Army veteran, active public servant as Prime Minister, King, and Chairman of the St. Paul Winter Carnival, successful athlete, and strong-willed man with a passion for life. Dick loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, golfing, biking, boating, and nature like few others. Dick was preceded in death by his father, Victor Joseph Barbari and mother, Agnes Ricci Barbari. He leaves behind his loving wife of 41 years, Sandy; his son, Rick (Lisa) Barbari and their two daughters, and his daughter, Kristi (Nathan) Schatz. Also surviving him are his brother, Joe (Barbara) Barbari and two sisters, Roseann Barbari, and Delores (Bob) Burkholder; nieces, Monica (Jerry) Petersen & their children, JoJo (Matthew) Valdez and their children, and nephews, Lewis and Geno Barbari. Visitation will be held at MUELLER MORTUARY PARKWAY CHAPEL, 835 Johnson Parkway on Saturday, December 6th from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. Memorial services will be held Sunday, December 7th at at 5:00 pm at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 1575 Charlton, West St. Paul, MN. Dick was loved by many, and had a personal reach that was wider than we can imagine – he will be missed dearly. Memorial contributions will be distributed to various charitable organizations including the Cotton Lake Endowment Fund and the Tamarack National Wildlife Center.
