He is survived by wife of 41 years, Carmela, three sons; Brian (Kate), Patrick (Jean) and Teddy (Jessica), four grandchildren; Lillian, Leo, Charlotte and Emilia, and a sister, Catherine. Bob was born on June 5, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa to Leo and Margaret Hobbins and distinguished himself as a student-leader. He attended Creighton University, where he formed life-long friendships and began his decades-long romance with his wife. Upon graduation, he attended NYU Law School on a scholarship. He practiced labor and employment law while helping to administer the firm's personnel and business as Employment Counsel and a member of several managing committees. He also served his community, including leadership roles with several local charities. He advocated for our neediest citizens, lobbying for homeless youth and serving as a guardian ad litem. He eagerly practiced and shared his faith and was an active member of the local Catholic community. His greatest accomplishment was his family. His marriage was rooted in deep love and faith, and shared passions for travel, food, hospitality, and charity. He was a model father to his sons, teaching them to walk with faith in a demanding world. Together, they enjoyed Notre Dame football, fishing and the outdoors. He took special delight in his grandchildren. Bob will be deeply missed, but he will be remembered for the way he lived his life. Visitation 5-7:30 PM Friday, Rosary at 7 PM.
