Dale, Donald J. of Nisswa. Born April 11, 1932 in Minneapolis, passed away on December 24, 2015 in Brainerd, MN at the age of 83. Survived by wife, Jody; daughter, Stephanie (Keith) Seiler; son, Don (Cheryl) Dale; grandchildren, Audrey, Kyle (Meghan), Andrew, Alex and Austin; great-grandsons, Jaden and Reid; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by daughter, Kris Dale; parents, Charles and Margaret Dale; sister, Carol Bohanon. Don graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1950, where he was an All-American basketball player. He went on to play for the U of MN, and, in 2013, was inducted into the First Robbinsdale Hall of Fame. Don married Joanne 'Jody' Didier in 1953. He was a sweet, strong, jokester who achieved many successes in his professional careers. At age 12, he started Dale's Poptcorn, a successful business he ran for many years. After the sale of Dale's Poptcorn, he founded a print and packaging brokerage company, DJ Brokerage. Don spent his retirement years between Florida in the winter and Lower Hay Lake on the Whitefish Chain, where he would spend hours on his boat. Most of all, Don loved his wife and family more than anything in the world. He was a great husband, father and grandpa, and he will be greatly missed. Visitation 4-7 PM Monday at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway, Robbinsdale, MN. Memorial service 11:30 AM Tuesday, with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM, Grace United Methodist Church, 29286 Hwy. 371, Pequot Lakes, MN.
