Lawin, Sandra F. age 73 of Osakis, formerly of Eden Prairie, Minnesota. June 18, 1942 - December 21, 2015. Memorial Services will be at 11 am, Monday, December 28, 2015 at Peace United Church, Long Prairie, for Sandra F. Lawin, age 73, of Osakis, who passed away on Monday in the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Gary Taylor will officiate and burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Sandra Fae Pester was born June 18, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Forest and Mae (Swenson) Pester. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated with the Marshall High School Class of 1960. She attended and graduated from Mankato State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She married Gary Lawin on August 9, 1969 in Long Prairie, Minnesota. She taught in the Twin Cities area for several years. She and Gary raised their family in Eden Prairie. They always loved spending time at their lake home on Lake Osakis until 1998 when they moved there permanently. Sandra was a member of Peace United Church in Long Prairie. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, birdwatching and pontoon rides around the lake. In Sandra's life, family was number one. Sandra is survived by her husband, Gary, Osakis; children, Matthew (Emily) Lawin, Minnetonka; and Stacy (Chad Cooper) Lawin, Savage; grandson, Carter Lawin; and brother, Brad Pester, Eden Prairie.
