Kurtz, Leo Jr. Age 77 passed away peacefully on January 28th after 12 years of living with Multiple Myeloma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Sr. and Marie; brother-in-law, Barton Kersteter. He leaves behind his wife, Kay; children, Nick (Andrea) and Kali; grandchildren, Ana and Soren; sister, Mary (Gene) Batcheller; sister-in-law, Margaret Kersteter; nieces and nephews. Leo was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School ('60). He attended Saint Cloud State and had a devoted career in transportation management at Pillsbury. After an early retirement, Leo was able to focus on the things he loved. He enjoyed spending time with his family at the cabin, earning his pilot license, and teaching downhill skiing at Hyland Hills for 20 years. Leo was a dedicated learner, teacher and had a way of making new friends wherever he went. A loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, he will be greatly missed. A celebration of Leo's life will be held at Richfield United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 1pm. Visitation is at 12pm.
