Winstead, Theodore Jr. July 16, 1932 to January 16, 2020 Age 87 of Crystal, passed away peacefully at the J.A. Wedum Hospice Residence of Brooklyn Park. Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jean; sister, Betty Thornton; brother-in-law, Robert Lee Thornton. Survived by his children, Cynthia (Eric) Jacobson, Vincent (Theresa), Terence, Colleen, Lawrence (Natasha) and Leo; 9 grandchildren; sister, Cornelia (McLennard) Jay; his half-brother, John (Brenda) Kirk; many loving relatives and friends. Ted will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. As a young man, he served honorably in the United States Air Force. For decades, he was an active Ham Radio Operator. For years, he worked as a computer technician at Control Data Corporation. Among his many lifelong interests, perhaps he reserved the most passion for aviation and smooth jazz. We know that Ted will forever fly the blue skies of heaven. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am Monday, January 20 at the Church of St Raphael 7301 Bass Lake Rd. Crystal. Visitation starting at 10:30am.
