Johnson, James T. Age 92 of Edina, peacefully passed away on 1-4-20. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eric & Nellie Johnson; daughter, Mona Boesen; sister, Jeanne; brothers, Robert & Larry. Survived by wife, Mary; children, Jeff (Shelley), Kari; son-in-law, Mark Boesen; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother Gary; nieces & nephews. Jim grew up in Shell Lake, WI. He graduated early from High School to enlist in the Merchant Marines/Navy to travel the world & serve his country for 10 years. Upon making port in Oslo, Norway he met the love of his life, Mary in 1948. They had 1 date, 1 kiss & 4 years of corresponding that led to the 1st English wedding ceremony in Oslo's City Hall in 1952. Jim & Mary started & successfully ran "Scandia Imports" for 45 years. Jim served on many Scandinavian Boards & received the St. Olav Medal from the King of Norway & the Service Medal from the Norwegian Home Guard. He will be deeply missed by his family & friends but will live on in our hearts forever. Celebration of life ceremony 1-25-20 at 11am, Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church, 924 E. 21st Street, Minneapolis. (Visitation prior at 10am). Military Interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 1-27-20 at 11am. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to Minnesota National Guard (MNNG NAFI) or the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church.
