Diane Mary Brown, 74 years of age, passed on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at her home in South Minneapolis. She was born on October 30, 1945 in Minneapolis, MN to the late Henry Obinger and Gladys Dear.

She is survived by her son, Mark Brown; daughter, Laura Gieseking (Eric); dearest friend and partner, Bob Witkofsky; brother, Thomas Obinger (Janis).

Diane was educated at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, St. Cloud State University, St. Mary's University where she achieved her master's degree in Psychology. She practiced in the field for over 15 years at the Bridge for Runaway Youth and Fairview Hospitals.

Diane enjoyed involvement with the local arts community through various knitting, painting and book clubs. She regularly attended the opera and other creative live performances. She herself practiced improv for over 15 years.

Diane loved spending time with family and friends, laughing. She had a love of plants & gardening and always had a smile on her face. Diane donated her paintings and handmade knit items to charities benefiting the homeless and the Animal Humane Society.

A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 12:00 - 3:00 pm.
