King, Frederick William Born to life June 1, 1924 in Duluth, Minnesota. Born to Eternal Life on December 9, 2019 in Edina, Minnesota. Best caregiver and chef. Loved canoeing in the Boundary Waters. Was a champion speed skater, golfer, and great teller of jokes. Served as an engineer in WWII in the 13th Armored Division of Patton's Third Army. Active member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church; volunteer with Appalachian Service Project and Habitat for Humanity. Employed at Marsh and McLennan Insurance Agency for 31 years. Knew his family was "perfect." Survived by his wife of 71 years, Anne; son, the Reverend Jeffrey (Susan Greeley) King; and daughter Shelley (Jim) Ostgard; granddaughters Anne-Lise (Jason) Ellis of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, and Dr. Ellen Kindelsperger (Al Gutknecht) of Arvada, Colorado; great grandchildren Conner, Sophie, and Piper Ellis. Many nieces and nephews as well as countless friends. Services are Sunday, December 15, 2019 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 8400 France Ave. So., Bloomington, MN 55431. Visitation at 2:00 and Service at 3:00. Memorials to St. Stephen or VEAP.
