Doris Betterton

Betterton, Doris Age 90 of Wayzata. Passed away Wednesday November 20, 2019. Preceded in death by husband Len. Survived by her four children, Keith, Gillian (Craig Filip), Jane Larson (Bob) and Katie Paul (Joe) and six grandchildren, Sally and Sofie Filip, Ben and Emma Larson and Andrew and Sarah Paul. Doris was born in London, England on June 8, 1929. She finished school at age 14, during the middle of WWII. At 16 she started her career as a legal secretary. She emigrated to Canada in 1957 where she met her husband Len. They moved back to England in 1958 where her four children were born. The family emigrated to the United States in 1968. She spent 14 years in Michigan raising her children and eventually returning to work as a legal secretary. She was active in The Daughter's of the British Empire, Marshall Civic Theater and various school activities. She moved with her husband and two youngest daughters to MN in 1982 where she continued to work until her retirement. Her family will gather together in June to celebrate her life.
