Knuesel, Claudia Jean born December 11, 1946 in Minneapolis to Carl and Harriet Swanson, passed away November 11, at her home in Apple Valley, surrounded by her loving family. Preceded in death by her parents and son Mark. Survived by husband of 44 years, Tom; daughters, Angela Pals (Shawn) and Samantha Liepins (Aaron); son, Andrew (Susan); grandchildren, Tia, Nikolas, Aidan and Kya. Claudia graduated from Robbinsdale High School and spent her early work career in HR, then became a stay at home mom. Claudia was a beloved wife, mother, nana, and friend. As a young parent she co-founded and operated Camp Tiger, a summer camp for adopted Korean teens. Claudia spent her golden years in Duluth, where she was an active member in the Duluth Women's Club. Claudia was a lover of books and playing cards. She had a soft spot for nature's most graceful animal, the English Bulldog, one of which was always by her side. Claudia's hosting skills were unmatched. Her culinary ability and infectious laugh made every gathering a celebration. In particular, Claudia loved the Christmas season and having her family under one roof sharing the decorating, baking, and holiday activities. The family wants to extend a special thank you to Dr. Singh and her staff at Minnesota Oncology along with Fairview Hospice for their compassionate treatment and care.
