Horozaniecki, Mary A. Age 68, of Prior Lake, Minnesota, passed away on October 23, 2019, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Richard and Barbara Budd. Also preceded in death by her sister, Dr. Deborah Iverson (Budd) and son-in-law, Chad McAnelly. Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She loved everyday life at home with her family and gentle Westie dog, Basil. Every family meal was a celebration of life, livened by her quick wit and insightful discussion of music, art and daily events. Mary studied violin performance with the renowned master teacher Jozef Gingold of the Indiana University School of Music and Margaret Pardee of the Meadowmount and Juilliard Schools. She was a very accomplished violinist and performed in a number of chamber music groups and orchestras. Her most recent concertmaster performance was with the St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral Music Series, "Elijah," on May 11, 2019. Mary enjoyed a distinguished career spanning decades as studio instructor of violin performance at Augsburg University and Macalester and Carleton Colleges. Finally, above all, she loved her personal time with her family and close friends in Prior Lake, and magical time at her family home on Lake Superior. Survived by husband of 46 years, Dr. Joseph Horozaniecki, and daughter, Sharon Horozaniecki; sister Cynthia Budd (Kay Peltier); sister Laurie Budd; brother-in-law Dr. Robert (Amy) Iverson; and nephews Rick and Colin Iverson. Funeral mass Monday, November 4th at 11 a.m., Pax Christi Catholic Church, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Visitation one hour prior to service at church. Family will gather at a private interment, November 5th at Dawn Valley Memorial Park, 9940 Bush Lake Road, Bloomington, Minnesota. Memorials preferred to Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies and the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center.
