Grant, Clyde Edward age 94, passed away on October 16th, 2019 in Owatonna at Homestead Hospice surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Minneapolis on June 28, 1925 to Clarence E and Mabel (Johnson) Grant. He graduated from Marshall University High School in 1943 and joined the US Marine Corp. He was stationed in the South Pacific and was discharged in 1946. He continued his studies in accounting and business management, graduating in 1948. He moved to Owatonna and Josten's where he became the accounts receivable manager. He was united in marriage to Lorraine Sorenson on August 20, 1949 in Minneapolis and they made their home in Owatonna. Clyde retired from Jostens in 1986 and they enjoyed traveling, golf and their condo on the Pine River Golf Course. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, past president of the Owatonna Shriners Club (1980), and member of the Elks Club, VFW, Legion, Owatonna Country Club and Trinity Lutheran Church. Clyde is survived by two sons, Robert W. Grant (Debra), Owatonna, MN; and Thomas G. Grant (Judy), St. Paul, MN; and four grandchildren, Jeremy Grant, Medford, MN; Katie Grant, Owatonna, MN; Martha Grant (Sam Cooper), Minneapolis, MN; Karmyn Grant, Brooklyn, NY; and one great grandson, Grant Moses Cooper, Minneapolis, MN; and two nephews, Jim H. Swanson (Theresa), Clitherall, MN; and Scott E. Swanson (Denise), Grand Rapids, MN; three cousins: Gretchen Palm of Wayzata, MN; Alton (Mary) Johnson, Bloomington, MN; Malcom (Katrina) Johnson of Appleton, WI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Sorenson Grant, who passed away in 2014, and his parents, one sister Doris M. Swanson, brother in law Herb E. Swanson, and one brother Robert W. Grant. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 25th, 2019 at 2pm at Trinity Lutheran Church at 609 Lincoln Ave S, Owatonna, MN with Pastor Todd Buegler. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The Grant family invites you to a time of food and fellowship immediately following the service. Memorials may be sent to Owatonna Homestead Hospice Patient Care Fund or the donors choice. A Family Committal Service will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later time.
