Ekeberg, Donald D. "Duke" Age 80 of Mound, passed away peacefully at his home on Aug. 18, 2019. Don was born and raised in Blue Earth, MN, graduating as an honor student in the class of 1956. He competed in the featherweight division of the Upper Midwest Golden Gloves, earning a 1956 Golden Glove scholarship. He was a proud graduate of the University of Minnesota, pursuing an engineering career. He was a longtime member and supporter of the Northwest Tonka Lions Club, serving as President 1982-1983 and 2006-2007. He was an avid golfer and a regular participant in local golf leagues. Don leaves behind a legacy of a life well-lived. Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Esther Ekeberg. Don will be forever loved and dearly missed by son, Steve (Kim Sabol); daughter, Andrea (James Pospyhalla); sister, Janet Gesche (Lyle); longtime companion and friend, Marge Lemke. A celebration of Don's life will be held at the Mound American Legion (2333 Wilshire Blvd) on Thursday, September 5th from 4-8pm.
