Plagemann, Peter G. W. Age 90, of Roseville, passed away on July 18, 2019. Peter was a Professor Emeritus at the University of Minnesota, Medical School, Department of Microbiology and Immunology. For 40 years, his professional life was dedicated to the study of Microbiology. He began teaching undergraduate and graduate Biology of Viruses with accompanying lab and later in his career, Biology, Genetics and Pathogenesis of Viruses with Advanced Laboratory: Virology Immunology, and Microbial Genetics. His collective lab work was published in 242 research papers, reviews and book chapters. In his personal life, Peter was a dedicated husband and father, enjoyed world travel, played tennis into his late 80's and spent time at the lake cottage. He had a deep interest in world history and environmental causes. Survived by wife of 63 years, Erika; sons, Robert (Debra) Plagemann and Thomas (Susan) Plagemann; daughter, Ingrid (Mark) Johnson; grandchildren, Henry, Jack, August, Quinn and Sophia.
