Before you close the paper today read a few life lessons from our dad:

If you can’t have the love of one good woman for your whole life then make a list of important qualities and find two more

Go to church because it makes you realize that you should be a better person

Take your family on the same vacation to the same place every year because they will treasure it for the rest of the their lives

Travel all over the world because there might be someone interesting that you haven’t met yet

Wash your hair with Ivory soap because shampoo is expensive but buy your wife a nice diamond ring

Do it yourself - If you have never done it before try it anyway because you will undoubtedly learn something

Run the New York Marathon with your son and grandson on your 70th birthday – it’s a lot of fun

Enjoy nature - it might not be here tomorrow

Be thankful that you live in these great United States - It’s not perfect but it’s the best place there is

Never be afraid to cry when you are moved by the beauty of the human spirit

Boyd was a dedicated husband and father, a world traveler and a great optimist all of his life. A celebration of his life was held by the family on Bay Lake in Deerwood Minnesota on Friday August 2.
