Burdick, Robert M. Age 87 of Fridley, passed away Tuesday, August 6th at the VA Hospital Hospice, surrounded by his adoring family. Bob was born May 7, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN to Eldon and Linnea (Karlson) Burdick. Attended Central High, Dunwoody and the University of MN. Served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army (1952-54). Worked at Onan-Cummins Corporation (1960-92). Preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Gary, Louise, Millie, Ginny and Billy. Left to honor Bob and remember his love is his devoted wife of 57 years, Dodie (Dora Mae Stevens); children, Roberta (David) Peterson, Debbie Rein (Mark), Eddy Burdick (Pam), JoE (Dave) Schultz; grandchildren, Carissa, Jacob, Maranda, Marianne, Joshua (Ryan), Janea (Christian), Samantha, Ayden, Linnea, Hannah and Teagan; many nieces, nephews & special friends; and dog, Buddy. Thank you to all the VA staff for providing Bob with such great care. Following his passing, Bob received an amazing Veteran's Honor Walk with every family member present and he became a University of MN Lion's Gift of Sight donor. Family, friends, and others are invited to Bob's Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 10th at United Church of Christ (U.C.C.) New Brighton, MN.
