Sandberg (McCarthy), Cynthia of Nisswa, MN passed away July 13, 2019 at St. Joseph Essentia Hospital in Brainerd. She was born February 11, 1936 in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from Northrup Collegiate School in 1953. She then attended college in the east and also at the University of Minnesota. Cindy married William Wagner in 1956, living in Minneapolis and Chicago until their divorce in 1974. She married Bruce Sandberg in 1979 and lived in Minneapolis until they moved to Nisswa, MN in 1995 where she resided until her death.Cynthia is survived by her husband, Bruce; five children Elizabeth (Charles) Bloomquist of Trimont, MN, Cynthia Monroe of Carver, MN, Kathleen Wagner of Minneapolis, MN, Patricia (Michael) Twite of Grand Rapids, MN and Michael (Sean) Wagner of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving are her two step- daughters Anne Cronquist of Brainerd and Susan (Roy) Pokovich of Brainerd. Other surviving family include seven granddaughters; one grandson; and three great grandsons. A memorial service celebrating the life of Cynthia M. Sandberg will take place on Wednesday, August 28th at the Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Ave. S. in Mpls. Visitation begins in the Memorial Chapel at 11:30 am, the Service commences at noon with fellowship and a luncheon following the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cindy’s memory can be made to H.A.R.T. at 15494 Dellwood Dr., Brainerd, MN 56401.
