Carol was born on December 24, 1934, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Heryla. She graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1952. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; granddaughter, Amy; parents, John and Elizabeth; sister, Jean and brother, John. Carol was a great soul and one of a kind. She loved meeting new people wherever she went and would strike up conversations with complete strangers. Anyone who ever met Carol never forgot the experience. Everywhere she went she made a new friend. She was like a human firecracker - full of energy and wisecracks. She had a deep sense of caring for what was going on around the world. Carol was a life-long political activist always working for the underdog. Her humor, humility, uninhibited enthusiasm for life and all that it offered was powerful. Her deep sense of caring for her family, her country and for the rest of humanity was unforgettable. Carol enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, life on the lake and trips to the casino. She enjoyed her golf league and was extremely proud of the fact that she got two holes-in-one during the same season on the same hole. Carol was a huge presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Private memorial service and interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to the Ralph G.
