Lappen, James William Jim Lappen, 84, of Medina died July 6th at home surrounded by the love of family and friends. He is loved and missed by Gail, his wife of 62 years; his children, Bill (Jeanette), Jeff (Suzanne), Chris (Randy Pavey), Carrie (Grant Arveson), and Kati; grandchildren, Erin (Nathan Woodford), Donny (Emilia), Amanda (Matt Jackson), Cory (Kari), Michelle, Jimmy (Mel), Joey (Jill), Lindsey, Lauren, Hunter, Austin, and Jazmine; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Hudson, Clara, Sophia, Lily, Connor, Colin, Madison, and Brinley; niece, Jody. Jim grew up in Northeast Minneapolis and attended DeLaSalle High School. For 45 years he was in the glass business for Harmon Glass Co. Jim was known for his sense of humor and it remained intact until the end. He was so proud of his Irish heritage and loved telling stories. He leaves a legacy of love and humor. Jim was kind, loving and so proud of his kids. He enjoyed filling his home with family and friends. He was also the most generous man - always ready to help. Jim had a strong sense of justice and a deep empathy for those less fortunate. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be at St. Joan of Arc Church, 4537 3rd Ave. So Mpls, on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 11:00 with visitation starting at 9:30.
