Allard, Peter B. Age 85, of Chanhassen, went home to be with the Lord on June 18th, 2019. Preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Garnett. Peter founded and directed the Industrial Design Center in Minneapolis for 30 years, retiring in 1999. A founding member of the University of Maine hockey club, Peter loved to compete. Sports, politics and design were among his favorite endeavors. He especially enjoyed watching and critiquing his beloved Twins and Vikings. But Peter's greatest joy was his family; we all benefitted from the love he shared as well as his good humor, funny sayings and ingenious solutions to mechanical problems. He was a Christ-follower first, a loving husband, ever-present father, grandfather and great friend to all. He was always willing to give of himself and his resources to help others. In his life he served his Lord, his church, his country and his community. Peter is survived by his wife Jean; sons Todd (Shyla) and Stephen (Jinsung); daughter Shawn; grandchildren Lindsay (Tyler), Anson, Katelynn and Nate. The family would especially like to thank the staff at Lake Minnetonka Shores for taking such good care of dad. Memorial services will be: Friday, June 28th 11 am at Colonial Church-Edina, 6200 Colonial Way, Edina MN. Memorials are preferred to the Cancer Society or Colonial Church.
