Betty L. (Bloom) Merz

Merz (Bloom), Betty L. Age 87, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2019. A graduate of St. Louis Park High School and the University of Minnesota, Betty is survived by her sons, David and Christopher; sister, Barb Ryan, and grandchildren, Jordan, Evan, and Hanna. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Evan ("Pete") and her daughter, Melanie. Those who knew Betty enjoyed her quirky sense of humor, her beautiful hand-made quilts, and her love of animals and pets including horses, dogs, cats, monkeys, chipmunks, and raccoons. She was always reading an interesting book. In high school, Betty was often called Betty Bloomers, and when she married Pete, she jokingly said now she really was Betty Bloom Merz. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Betty will be interred with her husband at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Monday, June 24th at 1:00PM; Assembly Area #2.
