Thomas Arthur 'Tom' Chapman
Chapman, Thomas Arthur "Tom" Age 62, of Medicine Lake MN passed away on April 19, 2019 after a brief battle with lung cancer. Tom met all with unhesitating friendship and spirited conversation, from scientific breakthroughs to the Twins or ancient Roman history. He had impeccable integrity, a heart as wide as the ocean, and was always a dreamer. No idea was too wild or outrageous. Tom worked in the advertising industry for 40 years in Mpls and Chicago, many as a freelance account executive. He loved to solve big problems with simple ideas and classic strategy. A proud member of the Medicine Lake Fire Department and first responder, Tom's calm and caring demeanor helped many through difficult experiences. Born October 3, 1956 in St. Paul, attended Cretin High School and the University of MN. Preceded in death by father, Dick Chapman. Survived by mother Grace, wife of 28 years Liz (Basgen) & son Arthur. Also survived by sisters Kathy Chapman, Mary Kotrba (Jack), and Betty Moren (Bill). The list of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends is long and loving. A celebration of Tom's life will be held on June 20, 2019 from 5-8 pm at the Hutton House, 10715 S Shore Dr., Medicine Lake, MN. Memorials preferred to Friends of the Boundary Waters or the American Lung Cancer Association.
