Westrum, Janice Eileen "Cooki" 84, of Apple Valley, MN died surrounded by family, on Friday, May 17th, 2019 at the Legacy of Farmington. Born November 9th, 1934, to Glenn Cook and Lillian (Purdie) Cook, Janice Eileen Cook graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1953. Cooki married John Westrum in 1952. They made their home in Albert Lea, where they had three children: John Jr., Roxanne, and Keith. Cooki earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1978, became a successful real estate broker, and sold many homes in the Twin Cities metro area. She loved the outdoors and was an avid collector of beautiful and elegant things. Cooki was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, John Westrum, her parents, sister Geraldine Faye (Cook) Gunderson, and many brothers and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her three children: John Jr. (and Judy) Westrum, Roxanne (and Jeffry) Thompson, and Keith Westrum. She leaves a legacy of six grandchildren: Jason Westrum Ogdahl, Laura (Westrum) Hobbs, Deborah (Westrum) Tobias, Carolyn (Thompson) Finch, Thomas Thompson, and Paul Thompson, eleven great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are pending through Bonnerup Funeral Service of Albert Lea, Minnesota.
