Ryan, Maret Maret was a lovely, gentle and cheerful wife, mother and friend who delighted in the many pleasures of family and friends their lives and accomplishments. She was always there to brighten the lives of others and her many paths through life were guided by her boundless faith in God. Maret's many passions included her imagination and skills as a gourmet cook, accomplished quilter, gifted artist and joyous work as a Master Gardener. Maret treasured her time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, embracing with love every cherished moment with them. Maret was a friend to all she met, but no more than to the women and men of Minnesota's prisons who loved her for her sense of humor, generous spirit and tireless efforts on their behalf. Maret and John were dedicated to the Charis prison ministry. Maret served in many capacities for more than 30 years, including the Charis Board and six years as President of the Ministry. Maret's deep faith and commitment to forgiveness and second chances for everyone created in her a voice for the "Overcomers". She boldly petitioned the MN Dept. of Corrections for the prison community achieving a pilot program for women returning to the community. Maret was a joyful and enthusiastic person who made life a pleasure. Maret is survived by her husband John, son Michael (Barb), daughter Robin (Ryan), three grandchildren. Maret's life will be celebrated with love and joy at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie (952-941-3150) on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow.
