Lygre, John G. Age 75 of Lakeville, formerly of Northfield, died May 7, 2019. His family was bless- ed to be at his side. John graduated from Luther College (BA), Luther Seminary (MDiv), Rutgers University (MEd), and Princeton Theological Seminary (Ph.D.). For 32 years, John served St. Olaf College as a loyal administrator, teacher and advocate for the liberal arts. Both family and friends felt that John left a lasting legacy of a life that inspires others with his love, kindness, and integrity. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; two daughters, Sara (Wade) Johnson of Eden Prairie, Anne (Josh) Kutzler of Lakeville; four grandchildren, Emily and Alexa Johnson, Ben and Will Kutzler; his mother, Esther Holte of Peoria, AZ; his brother, David (Laurae) Lygre of Ellensburg, WA; his sisters, Carol Sherfesee of New Castle, NH, Lois (Carlton) Mitchell of Spirit Lake, IA; and his sister-in-law, Anita Nagle of Fitchburg, WI. A celebration of John's life will be held on Friday, May 17 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Northfield, MN, 500 3rd Street West. Visitation will begin one hour prior.
