Strandlund, Robert Alan Age 61 of Coon Rapids, six months after his diagnosis with Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer. Rob loved everything about the outdoors; kayaking, biking, hiking, hunting, and especially camping with his family. His grandchildren loved going with him on his many adventures. Rob was quick witted, and always ready to tease. He was never without a twinkle in his eye, mischievous grin on his face, and was always happily whistling a joyous tune. Rob was a Godly leader of his family, and his passion was his faith in Jesus Christ. Rob loved working and was a 36 year employee of the Star Tribune. Second to his passion for Christ was his love for his wife of 40 years, Linda. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Roy and Jean Strandlund, father-in-law Arnold Aasen, and his faithful companion Scooter. He is survived by his wife Linda; daughters Carrie (Brock) Welker, Emily (Mike) Thielke, Rachel Strandlund; his 8 grandchildren Maja, Mac, Ty, Addison, Gracelyn, Levi, Zachary and Joseph. His is also survived by his brothers Ron (Diane), Rick (Susan) and his sister Barb (Lee) Watkins; mother-in-law Nellie Aasen; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends & neighbors. Our hope for each of you is that you will find the true meaning of Easter. He is Risen! In all circumstances in this life, may you "Make it Count".
