Johnson, Phyllis Audrey (nee Nelson) Our dearly loved Phyllis Audrey Johnson (Nelson), age 95, passed away on April 12, 2019 in her home with loving family by her side. Phyllis grew up in Darwin, MN and attended Dassel High School, where she met her husband of 56 years, Ellsworth, who passed away in 1999. Edina was her home for most of her life. Family was very important to her and she loved attending family celebrations, dinners, cruises and vacations. She is survived by her 3 children, Christine (Steve) Ullom, Elizabeth (Paul) Milne and Eric Johnson (Darlene Pike). She is preceded in death by her son, Elwood (1957). Phyllis had 6 grandchildren: Julie (Mike) Ewasiuk, Kelsey Milne (William Tanberg), Scott Milne, Caroline Ullom (Joe Carroll), Allison (Ben) Paul and Kevin Milne. She earned the nickname GG when her first great-grandchild was born. Her life's passion was travel which included trips to all continents. She traveled into her 90's. Her favorite travel was to Hawaii which fittingly was the destination of her last trip. Her motto: "Have bag-Will Travel". Always committed to education, she earned a number of degrees. Professionally, she held various positions in banking, including Banking Examiner. She also held a Real Estate license. She was an avid volunteer from Scouting to League of Women Voters and foster parent to 14 children through LSS. She had an active social life with Bridge, Dinner, Dance groups and the Women's Club. Her calendar was always full. Phyllis will be remembered for her great smile, sense of humor, her drive and generosity.
