Tolkkinen, Anita Louise 81, formerly of Plymouth, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at the Wellstead of Rogers memory care unit. She was born Aug. 25, 1937, in Ishpeming, Mich., to Jack and Ida Wisuri. She married Paul Charles Tolkkinen on Oct. 22, 1960. Nita was a little spitfire. "Good things come in little packages," she would say. She loved reading, fall colors, and decorating for Christmas. A medical transcriptionist, she typed could type smoking fast. Later, she helped Paul run an antique booth at Blake Antiques. She was preceded in death by parents; infant unnamed son; son, John; siblings Marie, Ray, John, Melvin, Bobby and Ruth. She leaves behind husband, Paul; children David Tolkkinen; Jeanne (Lance) Karvonen; Barbara Tolkkinen; Edward (Yvonne) Tolkkinen; Karen Tolkkinen (Miles Nelson); 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; siblings Faye, George, Edward and Betty; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service Tuesday, April 23, at 11 a.m., Minneapolis Laestadian Lutheran Church, 13030 47th Ave. N., Plymouth, MN, with visitation one hour prior. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
