Long, Gregory W. 68, of Mesquite, NV and Crosslake, MN died unexpectedly on Mar. 26, 2019 while on vacation in Bucharest, Romania. He was celebrating his 48th wedding anniversary with Pamela Jeanne, his wife of 48 years. Greg was born, the youngest of 8 children, in Minneapolis, MN, where he spent his life until retirement in 2002, then spent his time in Nevada and Minnesota. He met and married Pam, the love of his life while attending high school in Osseo, MN. They married in 1971 while he was enlisted in the US Army and stationed overseas. They later had two children, Ryan Gregory (1977) and Jana Marie (1980). He worked hard as a communications technician for the local phone company through his adult life. Greg was an especially fun-loving man who touched the lives of everyone he met through his humor and great nature. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, shooting and traveling the world with his family. Greg is survived by his wife Pamela Long, children Ryan Long and Jana (Mark) Kiefer, grandchildren Maxx (11) and Ewan (9) Pierre, as well as a host of close and extended family and friends. A Veteran's Memorial Service for Greg will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on June 17 at 2pm followed by an informal gathering & meal at VFW Post 5555 in Richfield.
