Heck, Gregory James 69, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2019 at his home in Bloomington, MN after a long battle with leukemia. Greg was born in Langdon, North Dakota on June 3, 1949 to the late Robert and Lucille Heck. He graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1973. He worked as a tax attorney for the Minnesota Department of Revenue for more than 30 years. Greg was a devoted father who enjoyed coaching his children in numerous sports. After retirement, he volunteered at Bridging, VEAP and St. Stephen Lutheran Church. He also came to enjoy traveling, especially European river cruises. He will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who knew him. Greg is survived by his wife, Barbara Heck (nee Ingwersen); children, Kristin Elizabeth Heck and Matthew Brian Heck; daughter in law, Leah Heck; and granddaughter, Lela Katharina Heck. He is also survived by his 5 siblings, their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, April 12th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Minnesota. Visitation will begin one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers or memorials, a donation may be made in Greg's name to Bridging.
