Hansen, Carlyle E. "Carl" Age 95, of Golden Valley, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2019, 14 days before his 96th birthday. Carl was born in Faribault, Minnesota on April 1, 1923 to Dr. Carl and Stella Hansen. He graduated from Faribault High School in 1941 and Iowa State College in 1948. World War II interrupted his college education, enlisting in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1943 where he spent two years in New Guinea and the Philippines. In 1947 he married Marjorie Schwake of Kenyon and they moved to Clarinda, Iowa where they purchased a dairy. In 1953, Carl became the general manager of the Five Star Dairyland Cooperative in New Ulm, Minnesota which later merged with Associated Milk Producers, Inc.. In 1972 they moved to Marco Island, Florida where he became one of the founding members and Elder Emeritus of the Marco Island Presbyterian Church. Carl and Marge returned to Golden Valley in 2000 where he continued to reside until his death. Survived by brother, Richard; sons, Scott (Shelley) and Jon (Betty); grandchildren, Kelly Herbert (Ben), Nathan, Lauren Toppin (Matt), Mark (Rachel) and Erin; great grandchildren, Charlie, Thomas, Luke and Audrey. Preceded in death by his father and mother; brother, Paul; and his wife, Marge. Memorial service 2:00 pm Friday March 22nd at Colonial Acres, 5825 Saint Croix Ave N, Golden Valley, MN 55422.
