Jurmu, Robert Herman Age 82 of St. Michael, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2019. He was born August 13, 1936 in Mohawk, Michigan, the son of Ole and Anna (Seppanen) Jurmu. He is preceded in death by his father, Ole Jurmu; mother, Anna Halonen; step-father, Charlie Halonen; brother, Clifford (Carol) Jurmu; and grandchildren, Stephanie Jurmu, Tracy Jurmu, Martin Laho, Lillia Laho, Garrett Jurmu. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Miriam Jurmu; children, Michael (Susan) Jurmu, Eric (Margaret) Jurmu, James (Barbara) Jurmu, Kathryn (Joseph) Laho, Kristina (Jon) Jurvakainen, Peter (Christine) Jurmu, Phillip (Sarah) Jurmu, Andrew (Heli) Jurmu, Mathew (Susan) Jurmu, Maria (Joel) Fredrickson, Nathan (Shelby) Jurmu, Jean (Kevin) Moll, Benjamin (Jessica) Jurmu, Suzanne (Ari) Pitkanen, Thomas (Leann) Jurmu, Emily (Bryce) Pirness, Karl Jurmu; 169 grandchildren; 309 great-grandchildren; Halonen step-siblings; dear friend, Eija Jurmu; and many other loving family and friends. Visitation Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 5 to 8PM, with a service at 7PM with Pastor Jouko Haapsaari officiating, at the church. Funeral services Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11AM, with visitation one hour prior, at Rockford Laestadian Lutheran Church 741 Ibarra Ave NE, Buffalo, with Pastor Keith Waaraniemi officiating.Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal.
