Stockdale, Dorothy Marie Age 91, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2019 in Bloomington, MN. She left this world surrounded by her children and loved ones. She was born in Muncie, Kansas to Roy and Elma Wheat, and is preceded in death by Roy and Elma, husband Donald Ray Stockdale, and brother Achilles Wheat. Dorothy was married to Don for over 50 years. She was first a homemaker in Kansas City, Kansas, and moved to Minneapolis in 1964. She became an Executive Secretary for Rhoda Lund, and later for Iantha Levander and Al Quie, in the Governor's office. After their respective retirements, Don and Dorothy began an active gem and mineral business, with an avid passion for the healing principles of crystals and associated disciplines, touching the lives of many people in these communities. Dorothy viewed all things living as gifts of God which included her belief that there are elements of angels in everyone she met. She deeply valued every relationship and loved spending time outdoors on Lake Superior, on nature hikes, and quiet times of deep contemplation under her favorite willow tree. What mattered most to Dorothy was her children and their relations and offspring, who she loved dearly. She is survived by children Dennis, David (Jan Search), and Casey (Donna Gustafson), grandchildren Rhiannon (Gabe Hollinger), David, Angelica (Ken McFarlane), Tajen, Rebecca, Catherine, Chris Anderson (Carrie), Emily (Dan Gutlovics), Natalie, Melissa (Tom Sax), Erin (Taylor Carik), and Dillon, and great grandchildren Regan, Noah, Leah, Rory, Charlie, Elona, Graham, Landon, Juniper, Daisy, Logan, Hank, and Betty. Her Life Celebration will take place at Friendship Village, 8106 Highwood Drive, Bloomington, MN on Feb. 9, at 2 PM.
