Erling, Erik A. of Edina, MN passed away peacefully at home with his family on January 15, 2019 at the age of 91. He was born in Sweden. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1951. He married his loving wife Carolyn of 65 years in 1953. He served in both the Swedish and U.S. armies. He enjoyed a successful career as a painting contractor. He loved skiing in Vail, Austria, Switzerland and Italy. He was preceded in death by his son Paul. Erik is survived by his devoted wife Carolyn, son Steven (Lois) of Edina, Grandchildren Julia (Bill) Forelli, Orange, CA, David (Katy), Corona, CA, Powl of Edina, MN and his sister, Karin of Sweden. Memorial service at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6901 Normandale Blvd, Edina, Saturday January 26 at 11 AM. Visitation one hour prior to service. Lunch to follow. Memorials preferred to Christ Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund and The American Swedish Institute.
