Rudd, Louis Charles passed away peacefully at his home on January 1, 2019. He was 101 and preceded in death by his parents Charlotte and Charles Rudd, his brother, Joseph and sister, Marie Ventresca. Louis was born in Evansville, IN, where he spent his early years and met Joan Stoll, whom he married in Pierz, MN in 1953. In the sixties, Louis and Joan moved their growing family to Minneapolis where they raised six children. A veteran of World War II and a graduate of DePaul University, Louis taught history for 25 years at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. In addition to his wife Joan of 65 years, Louis is survived by his children, Charles (Linda) Rudd, Mary Lou (Chuck) Watson, Bill (Lorrain) Rudd, Charlotte (Chris) Swanson, Cathy Frautschi and John (Anya) Rudd; 25 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 9401 Nesbitt Avenue S Bloomington MN at 11 am on January 12. Visitation will start at 10 a.m and a reception will follow the service. At Joan's request, in lieu of flowers or gifts, please send donations to St. Edward's Catholic Church. His family and friends will remember him as a lover of Mozart, a devout and proud Catholic, and a lifelong learner.
