Chatfield, Helen (Baillif) passed away at Apple Rehab in Middletown, CT, at age 97. She was born in 1921, in Pine City, MN, the daughter of the late Allen E. and Adelaide (St. Martin) Baillif. and graduated from Bloomington (MN) High School. After Pearl Harbor, she enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Women's Reserve, serving at Marine Corps Base Quantico. She married and settled in CT after the war. Helen is survived by her son and daughter of Middletown, CT; and by cousins, nieces, and nephews in Connecticut, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Louisiana, Texas, and California. She was predeceased by her brother, E. Allen Bailiff, & sister, Eugenia Dean. A memorial service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery is planned for a later date.
