Conkey, George Warren Age 92, of Bloomington, died Thursday, December 6, 2018 at St. Therese of New Hope. Born in Minneapolis, November 21, 1926, to Esther (Siebert) and Charles Conkey, the youngest of four children. A 1945 graduate of Washburn H.S., he attended the U of M and served in the U.S. Army, Korean war. On July 17, 1954 he married the absolute love of his life, Audrey Robinson, of St. Cloud. From that day forward the two remained inseparable. He finished his career with Apple Valley Red-E-Mix. He loved the owners and people of AVR, working there late into his 70's. His greatest joys were spending time with his family, vacationing yearly in Duluth, gardening, fishing and treasure finding. He is survived by his loving wife Audrey, son Rick (Hallee) of Edina, daughter Mary (Curt) Crippen of Chanhassen; three grandchildren, Daniel, Delaney and Henry; his brother David R. Conkey (96) of Edina; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother Frank S. Conkey and sister Margaret Goodwin. George Warren was generous and kind, a big man with a booming voice and a bigger heart.
