Lars Per Lodoen
Lodoen, Lars Per Age 92, of the Twin Cities passed away December 6, 2018. Lars emigrated from Norway to America after fighting Hitler's Forces in WWII. With not much more than the clothes on his back he came to start a family and escape the turmoil in Europe. There were no free rides in America in the 50's. He worked hard as a brick layer, working on North Memorial Hospital, Grain Belt Brewery, Medtronic, the U of M and many other buildings. He taught us that if you work hard you can do anything. He bought an old rundown resort on Norway Lake and he couldn't wait for Friday to go and work on it. He loved his family and would do anything to help us. He was very generous. At the nursing home everyone loved him and knew him by name. Lars was preceded in death by first wife and mother of his children, Anne Marie; second wife, Violet; son, Knut; daughter-in-law, Kathy; parents, Lars and Karoline; siblings, Leif, Oddvar, Ashild, Ingebjorg, Hallstein, and Kjell. He will be missed by his sons, Lars and Paul (Deb); grandson, Justin; sister, Liv Kari; special friend, Irene Pemble; daughter-in-law, Marilyn and relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 15th at 10:30AM at Cremation Society of MN, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park with a visitation at 10:00AM. Private Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
