Slack (Mahle), Kristine Linnea of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of St. Michael, Minnesota, following a long illness and brief stay in hospice care. Kris peacefully entered our heavenly kingdom on Sunday, November 11 with her loving and doting husband, Ronald Slack by her side. The only daughter born to Theodore and Astrid Mahle on May 30, 1943. Predeceased in death by her parents, her mother-in-law, Marie Stieve, her husband Steve, brother-in-law, Thom Slack and niece Kristyn Mahle. Survived by one brother, Dennis (Judie) Mahle from Michigan, two nieces Karryn and Denise as well as many close friends. Kristine graduated from Cooley High School and then went on to Luther College to become an elementary school teacher. Her career begain in 1966. After 34 years, Kris retired from Osseo Area Schools in 1999. Kris positively impacted the lives of many young people throughout her teaching career. Ron and Kris were avid travelers. Cruising the Caribbean, Japan, China, Alaska, Europe, South American and Tahiti many times during their 39 years of marriage. Even after Kris was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the fall of 2016, they continued to cruise between chemotherapy treatments and doctor appointments. A celebration of Kris's life will be held on January 31, 2019 at the Legends Country Club in Fort Myers, 3340 Bristol Bay Place. Memorials preferred to donor's favorite charity.
