Hopf, Lois Alberta McLean Age 101, of Edina passed away Sept. 18, 2018. Preceded in death by parents, Edward Mclean and Edna (Bacon) McLean; siblings Bethel, Beryl, Audrey and Dale; husband Walter Douglas Hopf; and daughter, Camille Donohue. Born in Austin, MN, 1917, Lois was a descendant of John Alexander Faribault. As a baby she moved with her family to Musselshell, MT where both parents died in the flu epidemic of 1919. Lois returned to the Twin Cities and was raised by William and Maude Arthur. She was a graduate of South High School. She met Walter in the Christian Endeavor class at First Baptist Church in Mpls. in 1936; they married in 1939 and were married 74 years until Walter's passing. Lois was very active in the church's Guild and Kinship programs generously donating time and resources to missions work. Lois was an expert seamstress and needle worker, winning ribbons at the State Fair for her hooked rugs. Lois worked for Maxim's Hair Salon as Maxim Kunin's personal assistant. She and Walter had a cabin on Bay Lake. Lois is survived by daughter Janelle McLean; grandchildren Reed Harry, Jeffrey Charlton, Dana Charlton, Robert Donahue, Karen Howard; son-in-law, Gerald Donahue; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
