Beadle, Donald D. passed away at his home on Leech Lake August 25, 2018h. His memorial service will be at Hope Lutheran Church in Walker, MN Saturday, September 15th at 11 a.m. Visitation is Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. at Northern Peace Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Don was born December 23, 1933, in Perham, MN to John H. and Ethel (Anderson) Beadle. Growing up he lived in Perham, Staples, and Pipestone, MN. He graduated from Pipestone HS in 1951 and the Minneapolis School of Art & Design in 1956. He worked as a commercial artist. He was an accomplished artist, an avid golfer, a curler for nearly 55 years and a man who shared his time and talents with the communities he called home and the organizations he belonged to including the Morris Park Father Singers, the St. Paul, Bemidji and Walker Curling Clubs, the Daytona and Tianna Golf Clubs, the Leech Lake Arts League and Mt. Olivet and Hope Lutheran churches. Don and his first wife Barbara raised their three children in St. Louis Park, MN. In 1985, he married Tanis Oksendahl whom he'd met curling in St. Paul. They enjoyed having a place on Leech Lake where grandchildren came to fish, to golf, to do art and to play cribbage with their Grandpa. Preceding Don in death were his parents and his brother Bob. Surviving him are his wife Tanis, son Kent (Ann) of Hudson, WI, son Kyle (Shannon) of Minnetonka, daughter Kimberly (Mike) Sammons of Kearney, NE, grandchildren Justin, Andrew, Kathy, Sara, and Michele, brother Jerry (Winnie) of Fremont, IN, nieces, nephews, other extended family and many, many friends.
