Mattson, Erick Age 39 of Minneapolis and St. Paul died unexpectedly on August 16, 2018. Erick grew up in Walker, MN and graduated from Walker High School. He attended St. Thomas University for 2 years and after moving to Milwaukee, completed his degree at Marquette University and went on to get his law degree from Marquette University Law School. Erick worked for the City of Milwaukee for several years before returning to the Twin Cities. Erick was highly intelligent, loved to read, thought deeply, and was a beautiful writer. He had a huge heart and a strong sense of justice and was unfailingly kind, generous and loyal. He loved all animals and the natural world. Erick was happiest when he was on vacation in Hawaii with Maria, his best friend and the love of his life. He is survived by fiancee Maria Auge of Minneapolis and his two beloved pugs. He is also survived by mother Linda Mattson (Jeff Trouten), Brainerd, aunt Kathy Mattson, St. Paul, uncle Mike Mattson (Patricia), Hallock, MN, aunts Sue (Bob) Kelly, Fountain Hills, AZ, Nancy Nickell, Santa Fe, NM, and Barbara (Rich) Havican, Green Bay, WI, cousins, and many friends. Preceded in death by his father Kim Mattson and grandparents, Vincent and Joyce Mattson and Myron and Jean Nelson. Memorial service 11 am Tuesday, August 28th at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 22120 Denmark Ave, Farmington, MN with memorial visitation one hour before the service.
