Prohofsky, Gretchen Lynn (Klaenhammer) Of Maplewood Passed away Aug. 20, 2018.Many hearts were broken with the passing of Gretchen, age 47, after her valiant fight with brain cancer. She is survived by her husband, Mike; her children, Sarah and Jacob; her parents, Bryan and Linda (Brandt) Klaenhammer; sisters, Andrea (Doug) Albrigtson, Stacey (Justin) Storlie, Nancy Sarne; in-laws, Sandra & Dennis Prohofsky, sisters-in-law, Denise (Curt) Oslund, Susan (Joe) Burgoyne, and Beth (Jim) Tschida; and numerous nieces and nephews. Surrounded by the love and support of her co-workers at Regions Hospital, her family and friends she made the most of her last two years. She was a true inspiration for everyone. Visitation 4-8 PM Friday, Aug. 24th at HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM-PURCELL FUNERAL HOME, 515 Hwy 96 W., at Mackubin, Shoreview. Memorial Service 11AM (visitation 10-11AM) Saturday, Aug. 25th at ROSEVILLE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1215 Roselawn Ave., Roseville. A special thanks to Drs. Peterson and McIver for being a light during a time of darkness. Gretchen will be deeply missed by her family, friends and co-workers who mourn the loss of this vibrant and accomplished young woman. She touched the lives of countless people with her determined compassion and innovative care for the mentally ill. Time will never extinguish the memory of the loving touch she gave to so many.
