Noennig, David P. Of Lake Elmo, age 73. Passed away on July 13, 2018 from a severe brain injury. His family was at his side constantly. He is survived by his wife, Kay (Kunde) Noennig; two sons, Paul and Peter, and two grandchildren, Jackson and Maia; sister, Judy; brother, Jack; David pursued all of life with intensity, persistence, and passion. He earned his doctorate at the U of MN, was principal at Wildwood Elementary school in Mahtomedi, for 20 years, and was a cellist with the St Paul Civic Symphony for many years. David, like his active mother, couldn't sit still. He was a marathon runner and a skier. He ran at the Y during winters and became a member of the Twin City Bike Club and rode thousands of miles every season, rain or shine (ask his wife). He died suddenly doing what he loved, which provides peace for his family. David was a member of the Minnesota Principals Association, Bush Foundation, and various small string quartets. He was a cello teacher and an adjunct professor at Concordia University and St. Scholastica. He was a dear man, loved by many, and will be dearly missed. (There better be good bikes in heaven!) Funeral service 11 AM, Friday, July 20, at Woodbury Lutheran Church (7380 Afton Rd, Woodbury). Visitation beginning at 10 AM until start of service at church. Private family interment. Memorials preferred to the Saint Paul Civic Symphony and Woodbury Lutheran Church Missions.
