Gallagher, Robert Brian age 79, of South Minneapolis, passed away peacefully in his home on July 12, 2018. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Francis Gallagher a Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court and Elizabeth Jane Gillum Gallagher, his brother Michael John Gallagher, his eldest son's mother, Barbara Muehler, and his beloved pup, Teddy Jones. Bob was a healer. He owned and operated Present Moment Herbs & Books in South Minneapolis for 38 years. He deeply loved and devotedly cared for the tens of thousands of patrons who walked through the shop's doors. Bob was a pioneer in the world of herbalism and his shop served as a jumping point for dozens of world renowned herbalists. Bob once said, "Plants not only have a physiological action but also a spiritual action, and it is the spiritual action that makes them heal. And that's part of the philosophy of the store. It's unlikely that will fade away anytime soon." Bob had an infectious, true love of life, humanity and nature. When he caught your gaze, it was real; he knew some secret you did not. Rarely dogmatic, but rather seductive, of new, and mystical ways of thinking. Discoveries. "Be Here Now," he always said. Words to live by. Ahead of his time. A connection of love and compassion for all he encountered, and so many he helped in life and at Present Moment Herbs and Books. Bob is survived by sister Sharon Elizabeth Walsh (Richard), brother Thomas Patrick Gallagher (Barbara); his beloved children Tran Jason Muehler, Chanelle Anastasia Gallagher(Kit), Selena Nicole Gallagher, and Maximilian Israel ElijiahTecumseh Hill; Chanelle, Selena, and Maximilian's mother, Joanna Hill; many cherished nieces and nephews and family members; the caregivers who showered him in love at the end of his life; his loyal patrons and staff; and the shop itself Present Moment Herbs & Books. Funeral details to follow.
